Connect an AI assistant

Open OkText on your phone → Settings → Connect an AI assistant. You'll get an 8-letter code that works once, for 10 minutes. Type it on the sign-in page that ChatGPT or Claude opens. For ChatGPT, see Connect to ChatGPT.

What a connected assistant can do

• Read (always): list conversations, read a conversation, search texts, and get an AI briefing. Verification codes are hidden from it.
• Send (only if you allowed it when connecting): send a text from your number to one person at a time, and check whether it was delivered. By default, texts to numbers that aren't in your contacts wait on your phone until you tap Send. The app also caps texts per day.
• It can't delete texts, change contacts, or read your Google Messages chats (RCS), which stay inside Google Messages.

Disconnect

In OkText → Settings → Connect an AI assistant, remove the assistant. It loses access immediately.

Delete your data

Unpairing the phone deletes its synced contacts from the server.
